This morning I was considering again the possibility of returning to Facebook. I know that in the past I have failed to maintain a moderate and loving outlook while there. If I were to return there now I'm not at all certain that I could pull it off, especially with the way the world is going. I have not looked at Swen today, but I am pretty sure it's still full of horrible stories that would outrage me and I'd be compelled to comment on them on Facebook, if I was there. As I was starting this post I was heading in the direction of saying that I was going back on Facebook because I miss the interaction there and that I was sure I could manage to be civilized for the most part. But as I was looking for an image to illustrate this oh so brilliant idea my eyes landed instead on this quote from St. Basil the Great and I promptly changed my mind. St. Basil has rescued me from bitterness this morning, thank you Basil! :-)
So no, I'm going to spend the time I would have spent on Facebook, probably ranting and raving about the all too true fact that everything the government is doing is evil and violent, instead reading the Fathers of the church.
