FUBART woes

BART, normally reliable, is FUBART today! Man, I’m sitting on the train trying to go to work, so first we stood there with no train at the platform, then, 5 minutes late, a train pulled into the wrong platform, we were told to board that train, which we did, then for the next 15 minutes, nothing. Then just now we rolled out of the station, in the wrong direction. There really must be a mess in the BART schedule this morning! Yet there are no advisories on the BART web site. Now we are finally moving in the proper direction and are on the proper side of the Dublin Station, man they are totally messed up! Finally, a full 20 minutes behind schedule, with the train already at capacity, we have rolled out of the station toward San Francisco. Full speed for about 30 seconds and now we are moving at about 5 miles an hour... and now we've stopped... I wonder if I will ever get to work today? I suppose I will just get out my book, A World of Difference, and read for a while and try and relax.

Unrelated to the above I have deleted all of my KFUO podcasts. I once listened to Issues Etc., the Bible Study and Wrestling with the Basics from KFUO, but since they canceled Issues Etc. I have noticed that the confessional pastors who were once on the Bible Study have vanished. Only the sappy, sickly sweet, happy-clappy style pastors are on it and I was afraid I was going to go into insulin shock if I kept listening, so I've given them up for good now. I think I'll send them an email, if I get calm enough about the subject to do it in a loving manner, right now I don't feel much love for the fools.

Comments

  1. Ouch. I'm really sorry to hear that The Bible Study is going downhill too. I hadn't heard anything about that..

  2. Well, that is my subjective opinion, really I don't have much but an impression to go on there.

The Tea Parties

I didn't make our local Tea Party , but it pulled hundreds of people as well... Tea, anyone? from Father Hollywood by Father Hollywood Like hundreds of thousands of other Americans, the Hollywoods enjoyed a tea party this past Wednesday. "Tea party" (wink wink). Nothing subversive about sipping a little Darjeeling, eh wot? Nothing to see here, Miss Napolitano. Anyway, our local festivities were held at Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie. There were literally thousands of people crammed into the neutral ground (though on that day, the ground was anything but...), as cars and trucks poured by the busy boulevard laing on their horns in support. Here are pictures. And like every such gathering in our environs, there was even a brass band and an improptu "second line" parade. It was a "party" after all. But it was a party with a serious reason. The crowds were so overwhelming that it was hard to hear the speakers, and unfortunately, we did have a fe...

Viva California! USA out of California Now!

Gene Veith points to a Russian who predicts the breakup the American Empire. Gene is somehow unaware of the dozens of secessionist movements in various states. Granted they are almost all small but still, they exist and this could be a good time for us. Those who know me already understand that I'm a California Nationalist who I doesn't think California should have joined those united States in the first place. Being a part of that empire just costs us money, we get nothing in return. These days we get to be hated by foreigners for being Americans and mocked by Americans for being Californians. Getting us out of the US yesterday would be a day too late as far as I'm concerned.

Child Driven Education

Here is a Ted Talk with Sugata Mitra on Child Driven Education... very unschooling-like I think.  :-)  I've seen videos of him before, this is an update on his research on letting groups of kids learn on the internet, mostly without any supervision at all.  Posted via email from The Angry Gnome
